Settings in the "Aa" panel

The "Aa" button is in the header of every page. We remember every setting on this device.

  • Theme: automatic, light or dark.
  • Contrast: automatic, standard or high. Automatic turns high contrast on when your system asks for it.
  • Text size: A, A+ or A++. The whole page grows with the text.
  • Animations: system, on or off. The pause button in the header, next to “Aa”, sets the same choice. Turning animations off also stops departure updates and the movement of vehicles on the map.
  • On the departure board for screens at stops, the vehicle icon blinks next to departures marked “now”, and the device’s reduce motion setting stops it.
  • Departure updates: every 15, 30 or 60 seconds, or only when you refresh.
  • Map: always or on request. On request, the map does not load until you open it.

Using the keyboard

  • Pressing Tab once shows the "Skip to content" link. On the map page, "Skip the map" takes you past the map.
  • Move between tabs with the left and right arrows. Home and End take you to the first and last tab.
  • Escape closes the "Aa" panel, menus and dialogs.
  • On the map, the arrow keys move the view, and the plus and minus keys zoom in and out.

Using the site without the map

Text takes the place of the map. The "On the map" list names the stops in the map view and works without the map too. The "Vehicles" tab lists live vehicles with their line and vehicle number while the map is shown. The live departures of every stop are on its page. If you do not need the map, choose "Map: on request" in the "Aa" panel. You will still find stops and departures as text.

Screen readers

  • Every page has headings and labelled regions: header, content and footer.
  • When you move to another page, your screen reader reads its title.
  • Live departures refresh quietly. Your screen reader only announces a change of state, such as an error or a pause.
  • One pause button in the header, next to “Aa”, stops animations, departure updates and the movement of vehicles.
